Alex is too smart for his own good.
Alex's report card is out and he does well on subjects. The problem areas are mostly social - like sharing, playing independently, and listening to the teacher. As parents, we were shocked to hear this. (Ok, maybe not.)
Alex tried to sneak off to school today with some lego device that he made despite the fact that toys are not allowed to go to school - and he knows this. The lego's have been a good investment because any toy he needs, he can make. I've seen cell phones, cars, ships, planes, various weapons, and a few things I'm not sure of. He'd like the robotic legos, but that's not happening anytime soon.
One of the things Jared has learned from Alex is "mine". Jared will fight over something with Alex and Jared will yell, "Mine mine mine mine" if he wants something Alex has.

Jared's numbers, colors and habits at 20 months.
Jared now recognizes his numbers 1-10. He started off with 3, 5, and 8 and quickly learned the rest. Of course, the easiest number (one) was the last one he learned. The numbers go wa, too, fwee, fo, fi, si, se, eight, ni, te. Big emphasis on fwee, fi, and eight.
He also knows some colors, particularly blue and orange. Orange because I eat oranges.
He has an annoying little habit of picking up something he shouldn't have. If I ask for it, he runs to anyone else and give it to them or drops it near them. It's comical. We were in Trader Joe's tonight to pick up some groceries and I learned how fast he can be. He can very quickly grab something and toss it in the cart before you can say "Jared, no..."
He enjoys the outdoors, but he'd rather have mommy than go outside. When asked if he wanted to go for a ride, he looked at Mommy to see if she was going also. When he saw she was going, he was happy to get his shoes and jacket on.
The other day I was going to go outside but I did not have my socks on. I told Jared to go get me a pair of socks. He went upstairs to the dresser and brought back a pair of socks for me. It's very cute the way he does this.
