I'm sick ... I'm not sick
I took the kids to a party this weekend and Jared napped on the way there so he was a bit sleepy when we got out of the car. It was a house he had never been too and it was cold and snowing outside and on the way into the house he just stopped and started to break down. He didn't want to go inside. His brother went in and looked around and tried to entice him to go inside, but no amount of bribery or threats would get him to budge.
Alex told him there were cupcakes. Jared was interested but still did not want to go inside. I told him we can go in there and get one and come back out, but still he did not want to do it. He wanted me to go in and get him a cupcake. It was cold and he was starting to shiver and finally he said, "I don't want them to see meeee!"
So I told him we can sneak in and we can cover him with my jacket so no one can see him. So we had to open the door, clear the one room of people and "sneak" him in. Feeding him a couple of cupcakes under the jacket seemed to fix his foul mood. He slowly started to peek around corners and lose his shyness. Four to five cupcakes later he was actually being social and having fun.
